Breaks at Capitol Raceway! |

BLACK
ATTACK
broke during its first burn-out at Capitol
Raceway in Crofton, MD on September 17, 2006.
The racing-team had prepared BLACK
ATTACK to compete in an annual
all-corvette racing competition sponsored by the Capitol
Corvette Club or America. The team also used the
event as a Homecoming celebration to commemorate
breaking and setting a new record at Capitol Raceway on
November 20, 2005. The event would have served as
the first time BLACK
ATTACK would defend the record set in
2005, but it was not to be on that day.
BLACK
ATTACK
suffered engine damage during its first burn-out on the
way to the starting line. When BLACK
ATTACK went pass the Crew Chief, the
sound of the engine told the story; the car was in
trouble. Then, the engine stalled and could not be
re-started. The team towed BLACK
ATTACK back to the pit-area and after
some minor diagnostics, the Crew Chief made a
declaration, "We're done for the day!"
Back
at the shop, the team discovered that one of the exhaust
valve ends had broken-off which caused further damage to
the cylinder sleeve as well as the engine head itself.
The team decided to cancel the balance of the 2006
racing schedule and begin the process of designing and
building the 2007 engine. You can expect to see BLACK
ATTACK ready to shake the ground again by
early January 2007 in Orlando, Florida.

Attack will be coming home on September 17, 2006,
to defend it's home track at Capitol Raceway in Crofton,
Maryland for the Corvette Club of America Drag Racing
event.
After a
fast-paced season of racing and breaking records at Norwalk
Raceway in Ohio, Mason Dixon Dragway in
Maryland, Beech Bend Raceway in Tennessee, and Speed
World in Orlando, Florida; the Black Attack
will once again shake the ground where the team set the
9.4 world record in November 2005. Check the video
section for media from the 2006 Season!

Corvette Club's May scheduled car-show and point-series
race meet, hosted at Norwalk Raceway near Clevelend, Ohio.

Baltimore drove the 'Black Attack' 447 C5R Corvette to the
World Record Breaking quarter mile of 9.46 at Capitol
Raceway. Black Attack is now the world's
fastest "Naturally Aspirated C5 with independent
suspension." Sponsored by West
Coast Corvette, tech tuned by Maryland
Performance, and mechanically tuned by F-Body
